Outside speakers

Just brought home our new 2013 Solaire 209. Set up in the yard and started going over it. We can't get the outside speakers to come on. All speakers inside work fine. Is there some trick to making the outside work?

Welcome to the forum!

For whatever reason, the volume on most outside speakers is significantly lower than the inside speakers. Have you tried turning the volume up pretty loud to see if this is the case. On our fiver, the radio has three speaker settings, A, B & C. C controls the outside speakers. Does your radio have these type settings? If not, you might post which stero you have so others that have the same radio can chime in with advice.

Yes it does have those settings
A and b work inside speakers. C doesn't seem to work anything. It is a Jensen system. I will try turning up the volume to see if that works and get back to you ASAP. Thanks!!

Tried the c button with volume up and nothing happens. C seems to do nothing at all.

My guess is there is a wire loose or disconnected on the back of the unit. You should be able to remove a couple of screws and pull the unit out and check. We have a Genesis system that has a trim ring around it that has to be removed to expose the screws. Be careful not to break the tabs if it has a trim ring.

Found the problem.
The plug for the outside speakers was never plugged in.
Pretty poor quality control!

Thanks for the help/advice

Glad you found the problem and got it working. When we got our unit there was a problem with the satellite wiring and the shower water lines were reversed. Like you said, poor quality control. Other than that we've had good luck with our rig, hopefully you will too.

I feel like an idiot, but that's close to my setup that it took me forever to figure out.

I have an A, a B, and a C button. Each is a toggle switch, on or off for that series of speakers.

A is inside speakers.

B is unknown!! Beats me.

C is outside.

So, I can turn on OR off any of the three speaker series. All on, All off, or both or whatever.

But B does nothing.

I know the last campground we were in, the C speaker was really low outside!! I'm old and deaf and it took a big crankup to hear it.

On ours A is the inside rear speakers (2 of them), B turns on the inside front speakers (another 2) and C is the outside speakers.
