planning on 2nd AC

I have a 2018 rockwood signiture 8328 bs. 50A service and trailer prepped for bedroom AC. Also have AC ducted in trailer. Now the question is put another 15k unit tie in exist. duct work or dump into bedroom. was down in SC, Trailer warm during day in open CG. I think 15k better than 13500

Hi Brian,

We have a 2021 2883ws and were told when we picked it up that we could easily add the second A/C unit for $1,495.00. While I have given it serious consideration, the question that runs through my mind that I do not know the answer to is this, "Can you run a second A/C 15k or 13.5k at the same time while on shore power with a 50 amp unit without tripping breakers?" If not it defeats the purpose in my mind...

Yes, you can. The 50 amp service is actually two legs of 50 amps each. The factory will wire your breaker panel to put one air conditioner on each of the legs. So you're NOT running both ACs on ONE 50 amp circuit.

Regarding the first question, re: plumb to the raceway or to exclusively dump the cold air into the bedroom. It's a personal choice. But consider that you can plumb to the raceway, and still open the dump gate when you want to, and thus get the majority of the cold air to drop into the bedroom. You might do that to immediately chill the bedroom, but after it cools I would close the dump gate and have it feed the entire RV through the raceway (with both ACs turned on, after all that's why you have two ACs).
