I'd appreciate any comments on what I'm about to do with current TV setup.
Now that I have figured out the Dish setup (I hope!!), the TV that came with trailer is just too small for these old eyes. It will work GREAT as the setup mechanism for viewing satellite strength as I set up the Direct TV Dish, though.
The wall it's on is poorly thought out......the cabinet above the TV is in the way, and does little other than hide a few cables. I am about to REMOVE the cabinet (see picture below), and the TV and it's current PAW Industries VESA mount, and put in a 32" TV and an appropriate VESA Mount, possibly swivel, possibly this one:
Level Mount Dual Arm Full Motion Plus Flat Panel Mount - LVMDC30DJ | Wayfair
Here is picture of current TV and current cabinet above it:
This is a fixed wall, not swivel wall.
I will have to put the 8 screws back into the wall to cover the holes when I remove the cabinet, for aesthetics of course. But the TV will cover some of them, but not the ones in ceiling. There is no back to this cabinet. It is just in the way, really, of putting in a decent size TV.
I also will have to consider how to travel with this setup, and may have to remove the 4 VESA screws and remove TV and lay it on bed for each trip. Minor inconvenience, I guess.
Any other thoughts?
