Propane Detector

Last month at a FROG Rally in Kerrville, TX, our propane detector went off and would not stop until I pulled the fuse. Any time I put in a fuse, 3 AMP, it would go off. The propane is shut off at the tanks so I am sure it was a false alarm. Someone at the rally told me that it is not uncommon for them to fail? If that is correct? Do I just buy a replacement and remove and replace? It has three wires that are different colors so it seems to be an easy job? They have the same model as the broken one online at Camping World. Thank you in advance for you assistance.

I would purchase a new one and see if that fix your problem. And if it doesn't then you have an issue somewhere else. That's the easiest way to go about fixing it before having to send it to the service department for to sit for several weeks.

May be helpful to know the detectors will sound on small amounts of hair spray, aerosol polish, fabreeze and very often an aging coach batteries under charge and gassing. Humans can't detect small quanities of these gases will set off the alarm. The aging battery problem has been often reported on this forum.
