Can anyone tell me if leaving a radio turned on in the RV (varmint/repel) in below -0*F. will damage the radio/speakers?? .......

I wouldn't think leaving the radio on in subfreezing weather would hurt it nor the speakers if not at bass punching volume.
You would need to keep the battery charged though. Will you have shore power? If so, maybe an ultrasonic pest repeller instead. I've used one but it drives the dog crazy if he's close enough.
Maybe it's just me but I like to run the heat to at least keep it above 40 degrees and help with any moisture/humidity issues.

I'll second the ultrasonic pest repeller. We had one in our trailer all summer long and had no sign of mice. I know people that kept them in their trailer over winter storage and had good luck as well.

I have had very good results from using Fresh Cab. It is a herbal repellent, a 4 packet box is about $12 at Tractor Supply. Over 15 years, I have not had any rats in any of our trailers. I throw it under sinks and anywhere there are lines coming into the trailer. Smells like balsam. Much better odor than mothballs, DW said big improvement-"no more mothballs". Where I used to work, we sold it and could not keep it on the shelf. TSC had on sale last week, and I got their last box.

I have just quartered "Irish Spring" bars of soap and put a piece in each of the storage spaces, drawers etc for years and have never had an issue with rodents. They hate this smell and it also smells good once you reopen your trailer in the spring (and you can recycle it to use for your showers and washing)

I put a bar of it out last winter and came back in the spring to find it half eaten. Didn't work at all.

I tried the Irish Spring, in north TX. What the rats did not eat, melted. Did not work for me. Fresh Cab was unavailable last year, I had some left from previous year. I got mine early this year. I know many people that use in in their motor homes outside storage.
