Radio antenna replacement

I was on the roof of my 5er and noticed the plastic base of my radio antenna is crumbling and has developed a gap between it and the antenna and has to be leaking. Has anyone changed one of these before and is there a plug to disconnect it at the antenna or am going to have to fish the cable through from the radio?

If yours has the 3 screw base the antenna lead should unscrew from the antenna itself. Don't let the screw on ring attached to the wire to fall back into the roof when you unscrew the wire.
