refrigerator fan

Whenever our Dometic 8 CF fridge in our Rockwood 2440BS is on in hot weather, we can hear a fan running. It doesn't matter if it's on shore power or propane. Just returned from a trip where this fan ran pretty much all day and until 10pm. The weather was in the 80's. Is this normal?

thank you

If you have a fridge in a slide, they often have a fan. Only way to get heat out.

Not sure if it matters if it's in a slide or not. Mine does the same thing. They're usually hooked up to some kind of temperature sensor that kicks the fan on at a specific temp. Can be annoying if the fan is loud...I know mine is.

Does your fridge vent out the side or on the roof? In other words, are there two vents on the side of your trailer for the fridge...a lower and an upper?
