Refrigerator Freezing Everything!

Hoping someone has an answer. We have a 2015 Windjammer 3025W with a Dometic refrigerator. We have the refrigerator portion set on the warmest setting (there are three settings on this model), but food is still freezing.

Has anyone else had an issue with this, and if so, how did you resolve the situation?

Thanks.

Deb

What is the model of the fridge?

It sounds like it's in limp mode where it runs all the time and doesn't look at the thermistor.

Bama Rambler, thanks for responding.

The model number is DMR702. I don't think it's running all the time, it cycles off and on, also, it is running on electric.

Thanks. Deb

According to the service manual a bad thermistor can cause over cooling.

The thermistor plugs into the J3 on the circuit board. Unplug it and place the thermistor in a glass of ice water and in a few seconds the thermistor should read about 7,000 to 8,000 ohms between the terminals.

Run that test and see what it does.

Thanks, when my DH returns, I'll ask him to do that and we'll let you know how that turned out. I'm a little leery of messing around the circuit board or I'd do it.

Thanks again. Deb

Thermister Location?

DMR 702 does not have the thermistor on the cooling fins. Instruction Manual does not show where it is.

Did you find it?

No, not exactly. DH read the post from Bama Rambler and said he left his ohm meter is at home, so he couldn't check it., and we continued to consider what to do. In the meantime, our frig seemed to slow down the run cycle, or how often it was running, and the food and water bottles stopped freezing in the frig portion, and continued to freeze in the freezer -- so at least for now it seems to be running okay.

The only thing we could think is that perhaps once we got the trailer cooled down and a constant temp (or as constant as possible), the frig backed off. I don't know if this makes sense.

Thanks for asking; we're still keeping a close eye on it in case it would go the other direction.

Glad it's working for now.

Did you do any looking or troubleshooting on it? If so, it could have been a slightly corroded connection that got cleaned off by movement.
