Refrigerator options

New to RV and have bought a 2015 F.R. Cherokee Gray Wolf 27RR Toyhauler...

Have been on 1 short weekend trip and trying to learn about our Toyhauler, WITHOUT a manual.
I HAVE learned that it isn't unusual for our refrigerator to take 6-8 hours to get cold. That IS, when hooked-up to "shore power"... I think our refrigerator has propane capability, but haven't figured out how to check/activate the refer by propane source.
Even some advice on HOW or WHERE to search for solutions would be nice... I haven't had much luck on the Forest River website and don't seem to be very good at "Googling" my question(s)

You should be able to download the fridge manual from the manufacturer's website.
You need make and model number of fridge.
If it's a 2-way fridge, it cools only a little faster on propane than 110v AC. Still will take 6 hours minimum because it's an absorption fridge. And the freezer will always cool faster because it's a smaller compartment to cool.

Take 2 frozen old gallon milk jugs of water just put them in the day before you leave.all will be good.

I always allow a day for an absorption fridge to get cool, then stick it the following day.

I always allow mine to chill overnight as well. You should at least have gotten a build sheet, that has model numbers and serial numbers of all appliances installed at factory. Then you can search online for relevant owner's manuals.

Because of the slope of our driveway/TT parking spot I can't prechill with the TT in its spot. I will put a frozen gallon jug of water in the fridge the night before Then I'll pull it out onto the street in the morning, swap out a new frozen jug and fire up the fridge on propane. I also have one of the little cube D cell fans for inside the fridge. Doing this usually gets the fridge down into the 40's in a few hours. Then I start packing in the frozen goods and when the temp is down to 42 or less i put the rest of the food in. Works for us but you do have to be a bit patient...
