Question Refrigerator Question

Help me out here. I noticed a white wire or tube laying on the top shelf of my Dometic fridge near the thermister. I tried looking in the operating manual to see what that thing does and it didn't have anything about it. Does anyone know the purpose of it? I am asking because I never noticed it before and don't know if it needs to be attached somehow to the thermister or if it just lays there. Thanks in advance!

my guess is the defrost drain tube, is it a thin wire or a small tube?

It is a flexible white tube and it has to be the thermistor. It looks like it attaches to the white plastic slider but it just came loose. My question is there any special way it has to attach back on to it or is it just a matter of attaching it so it can move up and down freely? I think part of the problem is it isn't very long so when the slider is moved or (more likely) bumped up to the top it just falls out.

As long as it stand vertically - the closer to the top of the fridge, the colder it will get - it will work.

Use the plastic clip and slide it back on. Position the thermistor on the clip so that it does not move on the clip when it reaches the top.

Good luck and happy trails.

Once I find the position I want to keep mine at I use a paper clip like this to keep it in place.
