refrigerator too cold?
After using our refrigerator for 5-7 days, there is heavy frost in the freezer and the fins have ice form on them. I do have an external thermostate to monitor. The temp will be 34 (R) and 0 (F). I use the slide to adjust the temperature. What can I do to prevent this from happening? A refrig fan? I don't want to defrost after 5 days! And it will be 90+ outside. Thanks

Frost does not come from being too cold, but from humidity entering fridge. A fan will help some, but during very humid weather you need to minimize open time.

UK how do the seals look on the door? Does it hold fairly snug? FB is correct, you are introducing too much humidity to the system from either a bad seal or leaving the door open too long.

The seals are good, Sunseeker less than a year old. Maybe from opening door too long. But the ice on the fins? And the temps? It's hard to keep refrig above freezing.

Mine has a thermal probe on a slide that you move up or down. (located on one of the fins. If you move it up toward the freezer the temps drop. An open door or seals can certainly contribute to frost, but it sounds like yours is just too cool. I THINK. I don't quite understand your "The temp will be 34 (R) and 0 (F). " post.
Optimum fridge temp is about 36 to 38. Freezer at or near zero.

Yeah but if it is 34 inside...shouldn't the thermostat turn it off.
I assume you have played with that?

Just thinking out loud.. Jim brought up the slide which I thought you had mentioned, but I'm not understanding how too cold equals ice. Ice will only form with excessive humidity. Am I wrong?

No, you are correct. However, he says temps are too cold. Too cold, and any door opening will contribute to additional frost. So, I think I would figure out the temp problem first.
(Iwannacamp: Hopefully he has his temp indicator sensor at the same point as his fridge's sensor. If so, you are also correct.

In order to keep the contents of the fridge at 36-38, the fins will need to be colder. A fan will help circulate air and keep contents for evenly chilled.

HE, as referenced above, is a SHE! I have adjusted in small increments the slide probe to adjust temp. Doesn't seem to have effect. Maybe defective. The refrig will be 34 or less in refrigerator (R), freezes and ruins the food. The freezer (F) will be 0 to -4. (I used abbreviations, less typing). So then, no fan. We are taking in for warranty work later this month. We will ask.

Freezer temp is fine, 34 or under is a bit cool. I would try moving the slide a bit more before taking to the dealer and they screw it up
Re: HE verses SHE. UK CARDS FAN's come in all flavors. That is why we have an option to fill in the PROFILE. Then we know what part of the country you live in, the type of RV you have, and hopefully your sex..... (or lack thereof)
BTW, What UK CARDS? (University of Ky? We are Cats. Cards are Louisville.)

Try this.. There is a clip that the temp probe is attached to. Pull it out and put it back in with the very top of it in the clip with the clip as low as you can slide it. Wait a couple hours and see what happens. I had to push mine way up against the ceiling of the fridge to get it cold enough. Maybe you have the opposite problem.

Did that. Took it completely off, wiped it off, stuck the probe back in, all the way up in the clip, and then tried adjusting it. Pull the probe down, every which way over two trips of 17 days total. Each time, giving it a chance before changing again. Usually overnight.
