Replace Inverter 2004

New owner. I think my Inverter is failing in my 2004 Salem trailer. First I'm not sure how to get it out and then I don't know about replacement. Does it have to be the same model or can I find a substitute.

We assume you are talking about your CONverter which transforms 120vAC into 12vDC (charges battery, etc.). An INverter does the opposite (uses battery to power 120v "things" when you're not on campground/generator power).

You can use a substitute converter if it meets specs.

Agree that you mean CONverter.
ALL RVs have converters but few have inverters.

It should be behind the fuse/breaker panel. Look for YouTube videos for converter replacement.

Contact Best Converter for a replacement.

OK, I have the new converter installed. It's working but the fan comes on often for just a few seconds. I wonder why this is happening.

They normally have a cooling fan on a thermostat that is supposed to keep converter cool.

If the fan keeps coming on, it usually means a weak battery.
