Replace plastic flip cover on Suburban range top

Our flip up plexiglass lid on on Suburban range top rattles and is useless. The DW wants to replace it with a cutting board. Has anyone changed it out?

They did sell a folding metal cover for the stove. We have one and you can put stuff on top of the stove or flip one half and use the front burner. Don't know if they still sell them, but worth the look.
