Residential fridge ice maker

We just bought a 2016 Columbus 377mb and have the residential fridge with an automatic ice maker. The ice smells and tastes bad. The water out of the sinks does not smell. Haven't tasted it as we drink bottled water. How do I get rid of the bad ice smell and taste. I have not put in the whole RV water filter yet. Will that help ya think? Thanks.

Try one full tray of ice and dump it, should be ok. Most domestic reefers have an internal cartridge filter, maybe remove and test for odor. Most replacements are available in Walmart.

We have dumped at least 6 full trays in the past couple of weeks. Still bad.

I had a similar problem with a non-residential reefer w/icemaker. The problem was that the cartridge in the whole RV filter was moldy and black. replaced it and all was well (also did a sanitizing of the whole RV water system).

We have the exact same rv and have had no such problems.....we just put a filter on our water hose to the rv instead of using the filter in the rv.
