Residential Fridge Mini lite Travel Trailer

We have had issues with our Dometic DM2652 fridge on our 2011 Rockwood Mini lite 2304 5 days after we purchased. July 7, 2015.
The previous owners had to have the cooling unit fixed two years ago.
It is now not cooling on propane or electric.
We have some great advise on this forum on how try to fix it however, to no avail.
Today a rv repair guy came out and said it is the cooling system again. $1400 to rework this one or put a reworked it it.
Then he suggest we put in a small residential fridge. Problem for us is occasionally we travel 8-10 hours a day before we stop for the night.
I have read a couple travel trailer companies are selling travel trailers with residential fridge? Does anyone know of this or has done this to a travel trailer. Do we need more batteries or deep cycle batters and what is an inverter? Do you have to operate on a generator while driving (don't have a generator on my travel trailer.
Any help in this matter would greatly be appreciated.
