How do you know the compressor is Bad? What makes you think the inverter is the problem. Do you have 120 volts to the Fridge? A little more info would help.

need more info...

what makes you 'think' the fridge is bad/not working properly

what makes you 'think' it's the compressor

what makes you 'think' it has anything to do with an inverter

That COULD be your problem, but it could also be something else.

If the fridge still has power, then the problem isn't the inverter.
If it doesn't have power then you could plug something (i.e. a 120 volt light or fan) into the inverter outlet, and if it comes on, the inverter is working and you need to look more toward the fridge.

it certainly could be the compressor, you just hope it isn't because that's a hard and expensive job. I'm with you on that, but, no, the inverter would have nothing to do with that, as I'm sure you have the same issues even on shore or gen power.

Forest River is the corporate name, not the brand name.
What brand is the 27SSRK?

Why would you put a hard start relay on a refrigerator with an inverter already designed and installed by the manufacturer or is this a DIYS thing?

What brand is the 27SSRK?
The 27SSRK is a Salem travel trailer.

What year is your trailer? Is it still under warranty?

You need to isolate the problem and putting a 120vAC refrigerator in a 12vDC RV is complicated.

How is the refrigerator connected to the vehicle? Just a regular house type plug or is it hard wired to the inverter? If there's an outlet just run an extension cord from any good 120vAC outlet at your house and plug the refrigerator into it. If it works there's a problem somewhere between the RV's 12vDC system thru the inverter and to the outlet. If it doesn't work the problem is the refrigerator.

Find out the wattage the inverter can handle before looking at Lowes. These are called residential refrigerators but are very small for any real residence. My smallest house refrigerator draws about 750 watts. What's your RV refrigerator rating?

You're confused now I'm confused. There is no special refrigerator. An inverter will run any residential refrigerator. An inverter changes 12 volt DC to 120 volt AC. The inverter must be sized to the fridge.

OK, we know the problem is in the refrigerator.

Lowes and Home Depot have appliance sales all the time. If you don't need the refrigerator right now I'd wait for a sale. This will also give you time for exact measurements for a proper fit in the galley.

The next question is can you get the refrigerator out your door. A lot of residential refrigerator are installed before the sides are fastened to the frame

That's a good question. Anyone know the width of a OE door? The 9.8 cf unit I just checked on line has the smallest measurement of 23" with the doors off. Removing the door from the frame will add an inch or so.

Opening the door past 180 degrees should give you the full with without removing the door. If on a door closer preventing you from opening the door that far just remove the closer.
