Rockwood HW 277 Hot Water Heater

I have a 2020 HW 277 and the hot water stopped working on a recent trip.

When I got home I tried to figure out why. First I thought I might have fried the heating element as I left the hot water drain open when I first used the popup water system on the trip but it seems from the specs and what I can tell by looking at it that it is a propane system.

I checked the tanks and I have propane in both tanks (I weighed them). I tried following the directions to reset the system and start the pilot light again but the reset button (see pic below) doesn't seem to move at all. I have power to the system and all the fuses are good. I have the propane turned on when I tried to start the system again.

Anybody have a problem like this? Thanks.

Had the same issue with my dual electric/propane water heater. See those 2 spade electrical connectors connected to your thermostat? Make sure they are pushed together correctly. The installer on mine was sloppy and the male spade was placed between the outside plastic cover and the female slot. This caused the plastic cover to over heat and burn. The connection then failed.

I believe, from my readings and experience, that the reset button is OK if not popped out. You may need to check the circuit board. My understanding is this many times is the issue. Do a search on this forum in regards to the circuit board and how to check it. There is a lot of info here.
Please let us know how you are progressing and if the problem gets resolved.
Kind regards.

All fuses check out okay. Not sure what to look for on the board with a VOM.

Yeah it must be something in the auto igniter board. Think I will be pack it up and take it to the dealer. It's only 4 months old so maybe they will cover it under warranty.

Thanks for all the help. Appreciate it.

Let you know what their solution is.

No sir, you have the wrong things pictured.

Your thermostat and hi-limt/ECO thermostat is underneath the rubber cover that says RESET on it as in your picture here. They have the two red wires running to them

This pic below is your electronic brains aka module board.

Hold on and I will find a previous thread on how to troubleshoot.

Start with post #6 in this thread and read forward. It should help you troubleshoot your Suburban propane water heater

I just updated it a little. I had some pic links that have went dead since I wrote it up. I think I got them fixed now.

The troubleshooting is the same for your propane only water heater is it would be for the propane side of the dual propane/electric heating element Suburban water heaters.

Yeah it’s a great post. I actually read part of it in an earlier search but got confused by the pic of the two ECOs side by side. I got it now and will start troubleshooting tomorrow. Thanks again.
