security cameras and data usage

Hi everyone, I've got a Winegard ConnecT 2.0+ on my RV and wanted to add wireless security cameras with a data plan. My dilemma is how much data would I need?

Does it use data when the cameras are in "stand-by" mode?
For example, there is no identifiable motion to trigger the camera to notify me.

Would it ONLY use data if,
1. I log in to view the RV remotely
2. If there is an identifiable motion
3. If it triggers it to take a still pic or record a video
