Silverback 33IK Antenna/Sat Wiring

I finally got around to testing out my satellite antenna. I connected it to the connector in the outdoor convenience center labeled "Living Room Satellite". Other connectors were Bedroom Satellite and Cable. Inside, behind the TV in the Living Room, there are (2) wallplates. One is marked Satellite (with a single connector), and the other has (2) connectors - Sat/Cable and Antenna. I would have thought I would have to hook the receiver to the single Satellite connector, but it would only work when connected to the Sat/Cable connector. This doesn't make sense . . .
The OTA antenna feeds the bedroom and living room, so I assume it passes the signal through a splitter or two. Same thing for the external cable connector. But the satellite signal must ONLY go to a single connection point - the bedroom OR the living room. Anyone else experience this? Is the cabling suspect?
Thanks . . .
