Simple speaker on/off switch?
For those with the iRV radios, you'll know my pain when I say that all 3 zones come on every time the radio comes on.
After blasting angry rock music outside for 4-6 hours on Saturday without realizing it, I'd like to wire in a toggle switch so that those speakers are OFF by default. I'll mount the switch somewhere near the radio (close enough that I'll hopefully have enough slack in the existing speaker wires).
Has anyone done this? Or have a specific product link for what type of "toggle switch" would work?

In communicating with Todd @ Patrick Industries, the next generation iRV radios won't have this issue. But, neither Patrick Industries or the manufacturer consider this a defect and I'd be required to buy a new radio once they're out. I think these things retail for a couple of hundred dollars. I figure a pair of switches should be able to integrated pretty cheaply.

Don't need to go that fancy. Just find a local RadioShack or something and tell them you want a DPST (dual pole, single throw) switch. Should only be $1-2 at most.
I'd draw you a schematic for it, but I'm at work right now. Might be able to draw it out for you later.

a SPST would actually work. That is what I used and I am breaking the ground circuit.

Yeah, probably, but based on Doug's posts in the past I figured the DPST would be easier for him to understand as it keeps the left and right channels separate.

Took us a few trys with the iRV to figure out that problem. It also does it with the DVD surround sound (TV-Audio), especially make sure #3 is off when you are watching the HBO series, Deadwood! The language would shock a Sailor!
Our neighbors just bought a new Flagstaff and we went over to look at it, saw she had the iRV, told about 1, 2 & 3 - said the walk thru never mentioned that, she was grateful
