Stove top glass folding

Just picked up our 2109s and test using all the propane items. It doesn’t fold up nicely to behind the stove. See pics. If I fold back first it stay up like it would go through the window. If I pull it up and fold down it doesn’t lay flat. Could the hinges be installed incorrectly? Or am I missing something.

I have same coffee pot, excellent choice. My Suburban glass top outer panel folds back flat, then the remaining panel folds back into a vertical position. Something seems weird with yours, like hinges are on the wrong side of glass. Mine is a different model than yours.

Love that pot. Makes some smooth coffee.
I believe you’re correct. I attempt to fold it as per the directions and I get glass on glass binding.

Attempting to remove the hinges and it is a challenge. The screw starts to loosen but becomes tight and I start tearing up the screw. Is there a trick to this?

The front piece folds up first onto the back piece. Then the two pieces fold up again and should touch the window or the window knob.

So when I fold the front up it only goes a little over 90 degrees. When picking up the next piece is does not allow it to fully stand straight prior to hitting the window. (See pic)

Look at your second pic in post #1 and my second pic. Check out the middle hinges. Not sure the difference.

Your hinge sticks up between the two glass parts. Mine does not. The font part of the font glass does come down the same way to protect the front of the range.
Being a brand new unit (picked it up Friday) it is a quality thing coming from the factory. Didn’t realize it until I was making my first pot of coffee this morning.
I tried to do a good inspection upon pickup and here this was staring me in the face and never saw it. I’d flip the hinges around but really struggling to get them apart.

Not sure the trick but word of warning, don’t fold it half way back (when it works right) and just use the front burners. Quite a few us on here have had the glass get too hot and it will explode. Sounds like a gun going off and a million pieces of glass to clean out. Still have to replace mine one day.

The glass top should fold so that it rest against the wall. Your stove is like mine. With out going into the camper to read the name these stoves are a big improvement over the ones they used to use. The grates are cast iron. Later RJD

I already see why people replace these covers with wooden cutting board type.

It is a Magic Chef something.
I don’t think Magic Chef actually makes anything. Just a brand name Click image for larger version

Ha. Probably did with the other 200 stickers in here. But at least I know I’m not alone out here. Misery loves company
