Upon leaving for home last week and an 800+ mile journey, the wife noticed that the folding glass top on the Suburban stove in my Shamrock was loose. Since we were packing up for home she did not mention it to me, but took the precaution of putting a bungee cord over the top to secure it while traveling. I thought that was a great idea when I saw it when we got home. The plastic nuts had both cracked and fallen off the plastic studs. I am now looking for replacement BOLTS and NUTS to re-secure it back to the stove. I think SS with a fiber washer will work just fine.
If you want to use plastic bolts and nuts, check at a parts store for plastic lic tag hardware, You might be able to get them at lowes, if you use SS hardwware, I would put a rubber gromment in the hole or use fiber washers, with SS washers to protect glass, so you don't crack it
