If you get an Autotransformer, you will get voltage boost protection AND surge protection for just a few bucks more than a stand alone surge suppressor.

I like, and recommend, the Franks Electronics unit. It is a bit pricey but certainly worth it if brownouts are an issue in the summer months.

I've always had the SurgeGuard products, for about $350 or so, you get surge and high/low voltage protection...good starter product.

Herk Just curious, it says on the franks web site it uses UL approved components but does the overall unit have any electrical certification? I could not see any stamps in the pictures.

No idea. I would call Frank.
I can't check mine because it is now hard wired into the coach.
Will get a photo of my mod today.

Very happy with Surgeguard, try their website. The 50 Amp is on sale at Camping World for $335, I paid a little more then that plus I had shipping cost. I would not hookup without it! Good Luck

I'm happy with my 50 amp Surge Guard. There are better, more expensive units but my surge guard protected my fiver one evening when lightening hit a transformer at the rv park. Fried some electronics on several trailers that were not protected.

You might check out Progressive Industries. I purchased through TechnoRV.

I have to put my bid in on the surge guard, I went to hook up at a park last month and my surge guard post a reverse polarity warning. after moving to two more sites and all of them showing the same reverse polarity I got my money back and moved down the road to another RV park. No problem after that.
