first, Forest River has tons of different brands, so what brand is your fk28ss. knowing which brand it is, could route you to that brand's sub-forum where other owners of that brand could be more helpful.

second, pics always help a lot.

Is it just a regular On/Off type, a toggle, and does it have a red light showing its on or off?

It could be for your outdoor "scare" lights if you have them.

I have never seen a switch in the ceiling - does it look like an after purchase installation?

switch in ceiling

It is a rocker switch but it does not light in either direction.Thought it might be an outside light but have turned it on in the dark and nothing has lit.Thought it might be an outside light switch for the back door but there is no light on the outside. The switch matches all the other switches in the camper.I will take a picture of it and post it,Thanks so much for your help !!!

Do you have a roof vent by the switch with a fan in it. if you do open the vent then turn on the switch.
Just throwing out ideas

I have a switch, not on the ceiling but on the wall, it disconnects the bathroom lights. At night you can leave the bathroom light on and switch it on or off so you don't have to fumble on the ceiling fixture to turn the light on.

Don't mean to highjack the thread, butI also have a question about a switch for my tank heaters.
[I bought a XLR 19HFS last spring from RV Wholesalers…the driver that delivered it did not show me anything.]
I know I do have tank heaters…just don't know how to turn them on. BUT I have a switch I can't figure out does anything. Could it be the one by itself in the picture?
Picture on next page

Is the switch on the far right the one for the tank heaters?

Could the ceiling switch be a speaker cutout?

The large brown switch could be a higher than normal current switch? Comes to mind Wtr htr or multiple tank heaters for Artic pac.

Dunno - just fishing and trying to help.

Figure there's got to be some things above the ceiling panels.
