Tailgater

I'm thinking of getting a playmaker, or tailgater, for dish do I need to get a wally, or just hook the cable from the tailgater/playmaker to the satellite hookup in the bay? Thanks

The reason I asked, was I noticed 2 satellite hook ups in the bay area, along with the cable one.
