Thank You so much

We just got a new 2011 Roo 23SS. When we tried a few Cd's some of them sounded very strange. My wife's Beatles CD's seemed to lack bass and the drums on some songs. Through reading these forums I was able to determine that when they installed the Concertone they wired the two inside speakers to the right channel on A and B instead of right and left. I rewired both speakers to right and left on channel A and it works great.

That's the same way my '09 Rockwood was wired. It was built in Aug' of '08.

Were the wiring colours correct? On mine it wasn't a case that the wrong wires were connected. It was as if the assembler was purposely miswiring the speakers. All the colours matched the wiring diagram.

Our Rockwood was wired incorrectly as well. Majority of sound was coming from rear speakers till I checked all outputs and corrected faults.
On our Cardinal 2 speaker wires were not even connected. Does not matter what you pay for unit they still can't do it right.
Time for some overseas competition I am afraid.

Cripes, how hard is it to run stereo wiring? I had dealing w/ electrical stuff, but even I can hook up a stereo.

Does FR have a bunch of monkeys working for them?

I imagine 5 speaker connections is just too much for the workers to grasp.
Hope the 120volt wiring is up to snuff.

My thoughts exactly.

I hope they don't do any gas pipefitting.

The wiring is obviously critical to the successful operation of any unit so I guess depending upon the unit installed, the wiring can be pretty intense.

Concertone prints the wiring diagram right on the unit itself so it is readily available. Anyone having any challenge with their Concertone Unit should check it out to ensure the wires are indeed hooked up correctly. I understand this can be a "pain" but at least then you will know whether it is the unit or the wiring.

Bob:

That's how I found out the OEM speakers were incorrectly wired. I was getting ready to add my external speakers & wanted to know which outputs to use.

The Concertone diagram & colour coding is fairly straightforward. Even I was able to figure it out .

Wouldn't bet on it. I had to access the box under our bed to find out why one receptacle on the right side of the bed worked while the one on the left side of the bed did not. I found a 1900 box with 3 wires going in to the box. One was the power feed and the other two were the receptacles. One was wire nutted to the power feed while the other was just stuck in the box. It had never been stripped back to be connected. Obviously no one ever went through the unit and tested the receptacles.
