Thermostat wiring with hi/lo switch how to video

I have been wanting to get rid of my Coleman-Mach aka that cheap piece of crap on my TT wall. I was nervous about doing the upgrade. I also worried about losing the functionality of the hi/lo fan switch. I did some searching for a video, I'm a visual learner, I just have to see it. Diagrams do me no good. There are many threads that talk about upgrading thermostats, but the hi/lo switch has been just brushed over and it seemed very mysterious to me until I saw this video showing how to upgrade and where all the wires go etc...it helped me, I hope it does the same for you all...

This guy is upgrading to a Supco, but all the wiring connections seem very similar across the different brands.

Yup... those are wire-for-wire compatible. Did the Coleman analog-to-digital upgrade myself a couple months ago and its a big improvement.

Those are direct, digital replacements for the analog stat and would function like the one in the video in the first post without having to add the switch. The only other difference would be, the stat in the video is somewhat less expensive.

A lot of folks though, who replace the analog stat with a digital, also want the temperature programming features which is what I believe prompted this kind of mod to begin with.

Neither the stat in the original post or the Coleman digitals are programmable but they are way better for holding temps than the analogs. I have the black Coleman digital and it works great.

I just ordered the Coleman digital. Can't wait to get it in and running. I am beyond excited about this!

I have been told to always run the A/C on high fan speed to prevent icing of the coils. If using the fan without A/C, it can be run hi or lo speed.

I have been looking for a stat like this since I got my trailer. I hate getting up in a cold trailer. I tried to get a Rockwell to work, but Rockwell said they don't have any that works in a RV.

You can use most any standard thermostat I think, they all are missing the hi/lo fan option, You could install a toggle to control it. But, why not just get a digital RV thermostat for about the same price. The coleman I ordered will be here the week after Christmas. I'm pumped!!!
