Touch Audio DVD

Just took out our new Cherokee 264L out this weekend and we could not play a DVD. Kept getting a message that this " DVD can not be played in this region." Any help with this would be great.. Thanks...

Same thing on our new Grey Wolf. Apparently FR is getting some units that are setup for other world use, not in North America. I'm surprised there haven't been more folks with this problem. Going to have to call the dealer. Hopefully I can do a swap without taking the trailer in. The DVD was the last thing I checked to see if it was working. Plays CD's okay, but no on the movies. If you get a response let me know. Thanks

CSellers, talked to my shop and they suggested trying the reset button first ( I wanted to check with them first) and if that didn't clear up the problem they had a brand new one there to swap out with me. I'll pass on the results.

I don't know if you guys found a solution yet, but the easy one is go to lippert website and look up for their firmware update for the DVD player. You can download it to a thumb drive and install it in the USB port. That is if it is a WR3000D model

My Touch Audio stopped working before my first camping trip! Just found out today the model that came with my Cherokee 274bh is discontinued. With all the problems that I've had, and heard of on FR getting a different unit for a replacement should be a good thing.

You mention a 'Reset' Button. About where would that be at on the Stereo? (remote will not work)

If yours is the square unit with the touch screen the rounded side covers should slide off. They cover the screws. On the left side you will see a small hole (use a toothpick) to push the little button in. The unit should reset and hopefully pick up the remote. If not join the "it doesn't work club". I'm looking for something better to replace mine. It pretty much sucks. Won't switch to AM at all, picks up very few FM stations and the volume on L1 is still too loud with the a/c off. Just don't understand the cheap, cheap stuff they buy. Hope this helps.

Has anybody found a decent aftermarket replacement yet? With all the bad reviews I am looking for something. My outside control has already quit working. Not a big deal because I will never use it but makes me wonder what is next? What about the Jensen models?

Hello BTTRAVEL, I took off the covers and looked for a reset button, but not finding it. I included a picture of my radio from the side where I think that button should be. Do I need to pull the radio out?

On the left side in the section where the screws go you should see a "little" hole. Use a toothpick and insert it in the hole where the reset button "small" is located. Should be about in the middle facing out.

There just isn't a reset hole on mine. I even took the thing out and looked all over for something on the back. Do you have the exact same model? vd-400i ?

I can't find that reset hole anywhere. I even took the radio out and looked around the back side. Do you have the exact same model? VD-400i?

The reset button is inside the cover when you open it for the DVD.

Any chance you could send me a picture? I have looked several times and had others check and we just can't find it. Not excited to pay $80 in diesel and then $50 for copay just to have the dealer do it.

On the left side close to the center screw there "should" be a tiny hole. Tiny.
Just big enough to stick the pointed end of a toothpick in it. The "little" button is inside that hole. Your unit looks exactly like mine. Except I'm about ready to reset mine with a ball peen hammer.

I have to figure out how to send a picture to the post with my iPhone. Just incase I can't. There is a small hole on the face of cover on the inside. If you push the open button and it flips down, on the right hand side about an inch and a half down by about an inch in is the hole on mine.

I can see the hole on your picture...but mine does not have that. Certainly looks exactly like yours from the front view. Maybe I can get the dealer to call Forest River and see if there is another way to reset mine. THANK YOU for the picture though!

My touch audio was discontinued. The dealer sent me a Jensen AWM 965 works and sounds as good as touch audio did. It is a little wider so you have to cut it in.

Just an update to this...The Dealer had a remote sent to me, but it will not do anything to my stereo. Nothing happens. I have pointed the remote at a digital camera and through the view finder, you can see the little clear 'bulb' flash, so it IS sending a signal. The dealer does not have any other clue on what might fix it. They gave me the number of Lippert and suggested I call them. After holds and messages, I got real person and they said there is one guy there that might know something about these. Got him on the phone and he told me to take a hammer to it and cut my losses. After a little more prodding and questions a few days later, he came up with another remote and is sending that. I'm not optimistic on that. He said those Touch Audios are crap and it is nearly impossible to get any type of support on them. It certainly seems to me that there should be a warehouse full of used ones from campers that were 'totaled' due to hail. The trick is finding those places. Lippert had no clue and a couple local dealers confirmed that finding used parts for campers is a lost cause. Nothing like finding a part for a car. If the second remote coming doesn't work, just going to put in a car stereo which I'm told will sound SO much better and actually work. Wish I could eaisly find someone locally that has a Touch Audio stereo so I could just take my remote there and see if it works on theirs.
