trying to get to a/c filter

I have a wildwood x-lite 230bhxl tt...with a
dometic a/c. I need to clean the filter but I don't see anyway to open the return air vent grille...I'm afraid to mess with it because its plastic and I don't want it to break. Does anyone know how to open it? The manual doesn't give any information on it. It just shows installation. I cant work backwords because it says it snaps into place. Maintenance just says to clean it periodically but no idea how to get to it...thanks

Should be two tabs to push on. No tools required. It just snaps in place. Hard to break.

Two little tabs in front carefully pull down gently and don't drop it that's how I broke mine by dropping it

where??

I don't see 2 tabs at all on the vent. Any specifics where they are. Looks like a solid piece.

Mine has 2 obvious tabs about 3" in from either side on the forward edge. Try a small screwdriver in the slot about 3" in and give it a twist and see if something doesn't release.

If your ceiling unit looks like this one then the inputs are correct. If your ceiling unit doesn't look like this post a picture of it.
