TV audio thru the Concertone Speakers
Is it possible to hook up or is there a selection to run the TV audio thru the Concertone Unit so we get it on all the speaker?

Just traded our 2010 27BHSS Superlite Flagstaff in on a 2011 831FKBSS Classic Superlite Flagstaff. Towing with a 2000 250 Ford Diesel. Love the new camper though we haven't got it to a campground yet, busy getting it loaded and adding those mods we don't want to live without.

You need to look at he back of the TV. If it has "audio out", you should be able to go from there to the concertone "AUX IN".
You should get sound, but no garantees on how good it will be. Why not just play the TV audio through the TV?
Maybe you want the sound on the outside or bedroom speakers?

Our 2011 831FKBSS was hooked up like this:
coax cable for TV signal
video in from DVD to TV (yellow)
audio out from TV to Concertone (red and white)
Putting the Concertone on the AV2 setting allows sound through both the TV and ceiling speakers. We then use the TV remote to turn down the TV volume and the Concertone remote to control the ceiling speaker volume. My wife also figured out how to program the concertone remote for the TV so now we are using just one remote to control both.
No audio out on the TV means no sound on the concertone ceiling speakers.

Our TV does not have audio out
But it does have earphone jack.
My camera came with a cable that fits that.
It has RCA plugs on the other end and so I can
use my camera cable to get sound from the TV
to the Concertone.
This lets us hear it in Bed when the AC is running.

Any chance of sharing that info?
I'm assuming that there's a programming code for the remote to the tv....

TV audio through the 5.1 surround
I was having the same issue with my TV audio not coming through the 5.1 surround sound; I plugged a 1/8" stereo from the TV audio out to the input on the 5.1 plate in behind the TV but still nothing. So I dropped the plate to take a look and see if may be the wire was disconnected from the plate. I discovered that there was no wire going from the back of the plate to the ZX600 stereo center. So I went to Radio Shack and purchased a 1/8" male/male extension, 3' long and plugged that wire in the right place and now I have 5.1 surround sound from my TV audio. I do have to play with the switch on the plate to select the proper input as I am also using a Brite View Cinema Tube media box to route some movies from a USB drive. Sorry to hear that so many people are having issues, but I personally have had no problem as of yet with my unit except for that bad wiring job from someone at the factory. I think they are too much in a hurry to get these trailers out there. Good luck

My Flagstaff had a wallplate with a RCA jack for video. I went to Radio Shack and picked up one with 3 jacks, one for video and 2 for audio. The Concertone has RCA jacks for audio in so with a couple short RCA cables to connect the wall plate to the Concertone I was set. If your TV does not have audio out jacks you can buy an adapter that will plug into the headphone jack and convert it to RCA jacks.
Did not know the remote could work the TV - Thanks for the info, Bob!

I don't have the exact instructions but is was in the manual we got with the trailer. I know she had to point the remotes at one another and transfer info from the TV remote to the concertone remote one function/number at a time. By number I mean the 0 - 9 numbers for changing channels. My manual is in the trailer at my campsite.

Thanks for all the great info. Have to check into wiring soon. I have had no problems with my unit in the 2010 unit we traded and just haven't had the time to look into the audio. I knew someone out there would have the answer. Only had this one a few days and still getting the honeydos before I look into anything else. Thanks again....

Funny this topic should come up. I fooled and fooled with mine last night. The surround sound will work while playing a DVD but I can't get it to work with just the TV.

You must route stereo from the tv to the Concertone. It goes without saying that the TV must be able to output Dolby signals.

I am pretty handy with a screw driver, not much on electronics, but with a lil guidance I should be able to figure it out if it's just plugging in a cable or two. Herk, hint, hint.

If you have this (picture below) or something like it on the wall behind your TV, connect an audio cable from the audio OUT on the TV to the audio IN on the panel (in this picture it's the two jacks at the upper right and they are color coded). You can buy a short audio cable at Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc. Get the cheapest cable they have because the "Monster" or other high-end cables simply won't make any difference to such a low-end audio/video system.
Once you have the cables connected then the switch will have to be placed in the AUX position (I think....going from memory here and you know how that is for us old folks). Then, you will have to set the Concertone in one of the Aux settings too when watching TV so the sound will come FROM the TV to the Concertone then TO the speakers. Voila!
All this is contingent of course on the wall panel having been wired correctly at the factory...

I ran the L/R audio RCA jacks from the TV's audio out through the hole in the entertainment center to an unused set of jacks in the back of the Concertone.
(I use AV2 to watch TV and adjust the volume with the Concertone unit. Trying to use both the TV and the Concertone volume at the same time will cause problems due to the additional signal processing time running through the Surround Sound. It will sound like the audio is being played in a steel drum). You can also use the accessory pad like Willis suggested if your camper has that optional feature. (Also available on their web site as an optional purchase) I have one but prefer to use the ones behind the cabinet and hide the wires.
If your TV has RCA outputs you can do it that way. If your TV has an Optical (Fiber optic) output you will need to buy an optical to RCA stereo converter box (about 60 bucks) to interface your newer TV with the Concertone's RCA inputs.
BUT if there are no "LINE LEVEL" outputs AT ALL; only speaker level (like just a headphone jack); you will never get surround sound out of the TV since the processing of the different channels is done in the amplifier with the line level signals.
Hope this helps.
