TV issues

Hi Team,
I have my first TT a 2017 Salem Hemisphere 272 with the Jensen TV. I am on my first trip and can't get the cable to work. On air TV works fine. I went through the set up and chose cable tv but did not discover channels. Other campers have cable with no issues. I plugged in the camp cable into the camp cable outlet on the rear of the camper. What am I missing??

Thank you
Chris

Number one issue for first timers. There's a little button, probably on the same plate used to connect the antenna. If there's a little light glowing there then push the button and the light should go out. Then, the cable will work. Dealers seem to take great pleasure in not telling new owners about that system.

Thank you

Thank for the fast reply. Unfortunately there is no button behind the TV or on the cable plate.

Make sure the the tv booster button is off. It button is on the wall behind the TV.
It should only be on when viewing antenna TV.

My camper does not have a booster button. The plate in the bedroom is nothing but coax connector, and to follow the coax from the tv just leads me to an opening in the wall. Any suggestions on where the booster might be, if it even has one??? 2013 Flagstaff Superlite 5th wheel.

Do you have anything that looks like the photo below. They are usually located near the tv in the living room.

No, I don't have anything like that. As I mentioned in my original post, the coax, along with stereo, Genesis 3.0 DVD wires, etc, runs from the tv, through an opening in the wall behind the tv into a space that's inaccessible.

Emm-dee and others got it right.
I just discovered that hidden plate and button behind my tv.
Turned it off and now the cable tv signals
Work just fine.
This has to rate high on the list of poor design plus the dealer never mentioned it
I'm still not sure how it got turned on to begin with

It's actually a good design. It's there to amplify the "over the air" antenna signal and is very effective. But, it will interfere with a cable connection. That's the reason for the "on/off" button.

It's too bad many dealers don't mention it when delivering the trailer. But, I'd be willing to bet a lot of dealers don't even know it's there.

I'm trying to use Cable, for the first time, at a campground.

I connected Campground Cable to side of trailer labeled Cable/SAT.

I have this exact switch, you have shown.

Should I have the TV connected to TV or Satellite port?

Not have luck with anything.

TV connected to TV port and switch off for campground cable.

EDIT: not to further confuse... but you could hook the campgroung cable to the SAT port on the outside and then hook your TV to the SAT port on the inside and that should work as well for campground cable. Don't forget to do a scan on the TV once connected to 'find' the channels.

What a lot of people don't realize is that the switch does 2 things. First it turns off the power to the amplifier. Second, it actually switches which connection goes to the TV. It switches from the antenna cable to the connection on the side of the trailer marked CABLE.

For the record this little switch doohickey was never mentioned in our PDI BUT because I happened to read about it on here I knew EXACTLY what was going on when I plugged my cable connection in and nothing happened!! That was our first outing last March.
