TV not playing through Surround Sound (SOLVED)

i am having the same problem i have change the mode on my unit to every channel and it still will not play the tv through the unit i can put a dvd and it works and also the xm raido works fine but not the tv also the sub woofer is cracking bad just bought the tt last friday flaggstaff 831rlbss

The sub-woofer "crackle" can be wiring. I would check your wires to not only your sub-woofer, but the speakers as well. Some technicians do not understand the importance of polarity is wiring the speakers.

As to your TV output to the radio for surround sound, there must be an outgoing connection from the TV's tuner back to the radio for this to work. My TV has a left and right "RCA" plug to do that and it is wired to the AV2 input on my Concertone.

You should look at the connections on the back of your TV to see if there is not only a yellow RCA plug to your "composite" video input, but a white and red connection from your TV audio output to the radio.

A photo of your TV's connections and the model of your radio will be helpful to let you know how to proceed.

I looked on the back of the TV and surround sound it is not hooked up I called the dealer where I got the camper and they told me the TV would not play through the surround sound only the DVD witch I think it is a bunch of bull

Yep, they are NOT AV techs.
Heck most of them are not RV techs either.


Take a photo of the connections on your TV and I will tell you how to do it.

I found out how I'm going to hook up the digital coaxial out on the TV to the in on the G3 unit thanks for the info.

I hooked up an digital coaxial cable to the TV out to the surround sound in and it works fine but the sub woffer is still cracking I can't get into the woffer box to check the wires cause it is glued together going to take it back to the dealer

Thanks Derick and Herk, just turned on my sound system to AV1 and got surround sound from the TV. Didn't even know I had it till I read this thread!
