TV/Radio

We have a new 2021 Cedar Creek and the RV sound only plays though the RV speakers not though the stereo speakers. We have the Insignia TV and IRV Technologies stereo system. Any ideas on setting this up, seems like this should have been connected from the factory.

Make sure the TV sound is set to auto or external speakers. If set to internal, it won't switch. Auto is usually the best.

Make sure the IRV source is set correctly too, I think mine is tv2 or something like that.

Once you get that working, you can send the TV audio also to the bedroom or outside by turning on and off different zones on the IRV.

My stereo and TV uses HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel). There this an HDMI cable between the HDMI ARC port on the TV (mine is HDMI 2) and the back of the IRV62 stereo. TV Audio 2 on the IRV stereo is for HDMI ARC.

Does your IRV stereo sound better than a clock radio when using the factory installed speakers?

My home click radio sounds better and adding better speakers doesn't seem to help.

I just use a separate sound bar for TV or Satellite Radio.

Nope. And outside speakers sound like an old 1960's transistor radio. But, hey, it's camping. If I wanted to watch TV in surround sound and blast the music in the backyard, I would stay home!

In our previous rig we had an IRV unit for radio, dvd and BT, even changed its speakers but the sound we got wasn’t great. After exploring adding an amp to boost power to the speakers, I simply added a Bose Sound bar and a BluRay player.

In the manual for the IRV unit it showed to hook up the TV via HDMI into the back. I know a few others who did that but also complained to the poor sound coming from the speakers.

The TV itself has to support HDMI ARC. And if the TV does support it, only 1 HDMI port on the TV will be labeled ARC. Mine is HDMI 2 on the TV

Having same problem with Rockwood Ultralite

Cannot for the life of me get sound from tv and soundbar.
Using Insigna TV and iRV Technologies sound bar and stereo.
Using ARC cable. Tried RCA cords. Moved from HDMI 1 (ARC) to HDMI 2
Notta.
Will play sound from DVD and AM/FM radio.
But nothing from TV.
Have removed radio and checked connections, all look good.
Tried different HDMI cable.
About at my wits end.
Any help appreciated.
Dick

It does take a little higher quality HDMI cable to carry the ARC signal. Your TV also has to recognize there is an ARC source connected in its HDMI settings. Also the stereo has a special source mode for HDMI TV sound, I think mine says TV Audio 2 or something like that.
