upgrading home theater system

We have a 2010 Cardinal 5er with an Olevai 32 in tv and a basic RCA home theater system. The home theater has a dvd and speaker control and that is it. We need to add some music and are looking for an inexpensive solution that will fit in the 11 inch deep cabinet under the tv. As I have researched it appears that I either need to add an FM Tuner (don't see how this RTD3277H HT sys would accept one) or get a replacement home theater system. With the space limitation I haven't found one to fit. What have you done to solve this problem?

I'm going high tech. I'm building a Raspberry Pi with a 4TB hard drive to hold all our movies and TV series DVDs along with all 12,000 or so of our MP3s. The Pi will run Kodi which can interface with a remote and/or a Bluetooth keyboard. The entire package is about the size of a couple of Altoids tins. I'm still working on how to make it available on the bedroom TV.
