USB Ports

Bought our 2604WS about 3 months ago and took it out for the first time last weekend. First night, my DW and I plugged in our phones in to the USB ports in the cabinet below the TV and the next morning they were fully charged. Plugged them in again the next night, but they both stopped sometime through the night. Now neither port has power. Any ideas?

Don't think so. This is a fixture that has a cigarette type charger on the right that still works. It's the 2 USB ports to the left of it that stopped working. I pulled it out and they're both wired together.

yeah, the converter internally is probably bad. They make replacement flush mount ones. Like this:

Were you plugged in to 110V at the time or just battery power? We found with ours that it can be voltage related. We had a similar issue when camping w/o electric last summer - Samsung phone and iPad wouldn't charge, but then plugged in a HTC phone and it charged fine.

Ricochet - Thanks, that looks promising too. I talked to my salesman at the dealership where I bought my RV and he said he'd have the parts guy call me since it's still under warranty. Haven't heard anything yet.

KMP44, we were plugged in at the campground. They worked fine Friday night, full charge in the morning. Plugged them in again Saturday night and they stopped charging at about 35%. No power to the jacks anymore.

Really no big deal I guess. I have a half dozen other ways to charge the phones. It's just that when you buy something like this brand new, you hope for it to last a few years.

The integrated circuit in a USB charge port has built in circuit protection. If the plug is inserted at an angle it can short and activate the protection. Find the fuse that protects that circuit and pull it for about 30 secs. Reinstall the fuse and it will reset the circuit.

Flybob, there's a cigarette type charger that's part of this unit and they're all on the same wiring, and that stills works. This one could still work and the USB's not? I have a picture of it but haven't figured out how to add it to a post yet.

Thanks Kuba. I'll probably end up doing that too. Still holding out hope that I hear back from the dealer first.

You can buy an exact replacement off eBay for around $3 so they have got to be pretty cheaply built. I was buying a rectangular based double USB socket for my truck and saw the round double matching the camper one and got it to give me a second location for charging maybe on the other side of the bed. Until I get around to installing it, it will be a spare. EBay with shipping is quite a bit cheaper than the fuel cost to take the camper in for warranty work.
