Water Heater

New to RVing and have a dumb question, turn on the water heater and it works great. Can't figure out how to turn it off. The switch only says 'on'. It's a Suburban heater. Thanks in advance.

Howdy Rocinate. If you have the dual powered Suburban water heater (electric and gas), then this link may help you understand how each side works independent of each other, as well as how you turn each side on/off.

I'm purely guessing, but from the way you are describing, I think you are only switching one side (either gas or electric) on/off and leaving the other side on all the time................since with the dual powered water heaters, both sides can be turned on at the same time.

You are very welcome. This is one of the more frequently asked questions of all RV owners, and one that many dealers fail to go over in a PDI.

I also sent you a private message to expound on a few more things about this, including amp draw when using the electric heating element.

USS "Myfirstship" had hot water heaters. They were called super heaters. They created super hot steam to drive the steam turbines.
