What Replacement microwave?

My Furrion 900w microwave is broken with strange noise and smell of burning plastic or wire insulation. Still heat, but is unplugged and removed from over the stove. What brand and model have any of you replaced yours with? Amazon has exact one along with trailer, both without trim which I can remove from old one.

I just picked up one from Walmart that had the same dimensions as my old one. Don't remember what brand though.

They are like televisions. As long as it fits in the space you are putting it in, that's all that really matters.

measurements are key here... as long as you get the exact same model online ( unlikely) I would want to purchase locally to get the correct size...

I just bought the microwave/air fryer/convection oven shown below at Walmart for $105. Fit in same hole with no mods. Just tried all the functions and it works great. Especially love the air fryer!

Are all microwaves usable in RVs or does bouncing cause problems? Also, trim around it seems to be an issue too.

There is no RV special microwave... just anything that fits

You may have to deal with the trim around the surround of the opening or buy something that fits.

My old trim fit the new unit fine. I show the dimensions of my new unit in one photo, check yours out, it maybe the same. Otherwise, finding the stainless trim is difficult & expensive. Or you could make one out of wood & stain to match.

That right there is the ticket! Makes no sense to pay 2 to 3 times that price to replace one junk Furrion with another.

Do not forget - another thing to think about is how the microwave vents - some vent in the back, side or other. make sure your new Microwave can vent properly or is not blocked by your RV walls or other

Just checked with Walmart and they have it at a local store. My only concern is the fact that it is not designed for a motorhome. Which needs to deflect the heat out of the trim piece .Space my carry-on has a metal piece across the top to deflect the heat forward out of the trim vents. How is the heat coming out of the Galanaz microwave?

Mine has black trim. Did you replace a Furrion?

Checked measurements yours 19”W x 11”H x 15 3/4” D”. Mine is 19” W x 12 1/16” H x 13 14/16” D. It looks too deep for my cabinet and will have no room behind it. Plus yours is shorter by 1 1/4”. Otherwise, it looks good. May get it and give it a try.

No, did not replace a Furion microwave. This is my third microwave, original went bad, bought one with same dimensions at Walmart for $55 3 years ago, worked fine, I just want the air fryer & convection cooking. So back to Walmart I went. Mine vents out through louvers at front top & bottom.

I’m thinking with only using it for short bursts of 1 to 5 minutes mostly, the ventilation should be fine. If I was going to cook a roast or casserole for 20 or 30 minutes, I’d add cooling fans in the cavity above / below the unit. But I never do that.

We defrost for 10minutes at a time. Maybe an issue.

Thanks for all the advice. I am getting the one from Walmart, Hamilton Beach as it’s only $71 and It will be delivered Friday, in time for my trip next week. I may need to put a fan in the back to help with heat, but it should get me thru next week. Then I can either keep it or give it to my daughter and get the correct on.

Thanks, I bought one from Walmart for $71. While waiting for it, I opened up the old microwave and saw burned marks on the wiring going into the magnetron. Found them on Amazon for $50. I decided to wait for the Hamilton Beach which arrived this afternoon. I opned the box and thought I would remove the cover and see what magnetron was in it. It was the same. I thought I wonder how much on this new one is identical to my old Furrion. I tried the cover and it fit perfectly. I looked at both and the only difference I could see was the Furrion had raised feet. So I placed 2x4 in the cabinet that brought it up where the trim would fit perfectly. I put on the old cover with a top vent onto the new one which had side vents. Everything fit perfectly and I tested it out with a pyrex cup of water on both my generator and 200watt inverter.
Works and looks GREAT! Thanks Iwritecode!!! All for $81 with tax and free shipping.

Microwave replacement

Recently bought one to put in a friends 5'r. Install went well, but then discovered that there was no clearance on the left side for the door to open!
Replaced it with one that the door opening was aligned with the side of the microwave, that is, required no clearance to swing open.

New microwave installed

Used microwave this morning and it's fine. Lots of air coming out top trim vent. So I guess swapping covers and propping up with 2x4s did the job!
