Washing waxing my TT getting ready to cross our beautiful country for the third time. While doing this I noticed two clips on the stove/oven exhaust vent. When I unclipped them a plastic louver seemed to open (by hand).
Is this supposed to be opened when using the stove/oven vent fan? Will the fan force the exhaust flap to open?
Locked closed when not in use? Keeps critters out?
Not really accessible to a 5'10" person without a ladder or step stool.
Photo one is exhaust vent location on right side of TT above kitchen window.
Photo two is the louver(?) latches closed.
Photo three is the flapper unlatched.
Photo four is me holding it fully open!
It is a Suburban Range/Oven, so is the exhaust vent?
And yes I did wax the exhaust hood.....
Anyone have any ideas?

It needs to be unlocked, free swinging when operating the range hood. I was told in my PDI to keep it locked when traveling.
I can tell you what happens when you forget to lock it while traveling. The wind got to ours and it partially broke off. Luckily they made a replacement for our tt.
OK. Will add it to my set up departure check list. Right next to flip the on/off switch for the hot water heater behind the exhaust screen door.
No wonder our smoke detector worked so well!!!
Thanks for the info. Our first TT and we bought it slightly used. Learn as we go, thanks to this forum and u tube.
Safe travels.

I have never locked the vent in a closed position. When washing the MH I just push a small towel into the outside opening to keep water out (use pressure washer).
