WiFi ranger

I for the life of me can’t find where to turn this on. I have the QR code in my trailer and it says it’s an option on my unit I have but I’ve searched high and low and I can’t find it.

Model: Rockwood 5er

The WiFi Ranger is a antenna / Router combination, so if you do not have the antenna on your roof and a router in your 5er, you probably do not have that option installed

I found the switch to turn on the antenna. Unfortunately they wired into a light above my kitchen sink so the light will stay on when the WiFi ranger is on. Still trying to figure out the set up though. Thanks for the info.

Glowing blue light over the pilot's seat? Has a knob that turns left and right, with a series of signal strength LEDs?

I have that in my bedroom in my 5er. That’s a antenna booster for the tv.

I for the life of me do not know what you have then. I would either give my dealer or Forest River a call direct.

Hmmm...Did you buy the RV used? That is the only way I can think of a WiFi Ranger being installed; And it is odd that you seem to have a antenna but not a router - you need both of them for the WiFi Ranger to function correctly.

I️ bought the trailer brand new a few weeks ago. The WiFi ranger was installed factory. I have never found a router, although I was able to download the instructions on how to make it work but I was never able to really connect to it properly. It may have been the Wi-Fi in the park I was at not allowing it to connect or maybe I am not doing it correctly.

You need to call Forest River. A WiFi Ranger antenna without a router is non-functional. It will pull a signal in, yes, but without a router there is no way to broadcast that signal in your RV

That makes complete sense. Thanks for that advice.

When you scan for wifi connections on your phone, tablet or computer do you see the wifi ranger? If you do you need to connect to it using the password provided, then enter the following numbers in the browser window address bar 10.113.23.1:8080, this should open the control panel window for the WIFI Ranger from where you can configure your connections. The actual router, the piece that is mounted inside the rv can be hidden somewhere out of sight, it is not necessary to connect a computer via cable to do the setup.
The Wifi Ranger website has very detailed instructions and tutorials.

Ok so i did all that correctly. But it still wouldn’t let me connect. It was saying it wasn’t connected to the parks WiFi. Something along the lines of the parks WiFi was filtering or something like that. I’ll be back out in the Rv in a couple weeks so I’ll give it another shot.

Once again, many thanks.
