wifi ranger

Hello,
Looking for the experienced voice out there. I have a 2021 rockwood mini Lite. While i was taking the cover offer from winter storage, the wifi ranger antenna all but fell off. the base is completely cracked in pieces. is there a plug-n-play upgrade out there? been looking at the winegard 360. the problem i see with that is that there is only 1 coax cable connection, where the range has 2, and what looks like a small power supply with 2 wires. Any insight and recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Moved thread from the General Tech and Repair section to the Appliances and Electronics sub-forum since the OP's questions are specific to Electronics and not general questions.

I'm not sure what to tell you. It might be helpful if you could indicate which Wifi Ranger you have. Just FYI: Wifi Ranger was purchased by Winegard in August 2020.

I have an older trailer than yours, a 2018 Flagstaff Micro Lite 21DS (the Flagstaff Micro Lites are the siblings of the Rockwood mini Lites) that came with a Wifi Ranger. I was never really happy with it. It was just plan slow. I replaced it with this: GL.iNet GL-A1300. It's a pocket travel router that works great. Since the walls of the trailer do not have enough metal to reduce the wifi signals, this pocket travel wifi router works just fine. I haven't removed my wifi ranger, at least not yet. But if/when I do, I'll just fill in the holes in the roof and seal over them.

Most of the time, I tether my pocket travel router to my phone for internet access, and our other devices to the router. That works well for us. I hardly ever connect it to campground wifi since that is more often than not overloaded and slow.

I can tell you this about the Winegard Air 360, its junk.

We have a 2024 Flagstaff with the Air 360+ 5G.

As a HDTV antenna it's almost worthless.

During the PDI at the dealer last October set up in the metal service building, it would pull in all the Pittsburgh Metro locals. The dealer is 20 miles as the crow flies from the city.
At my house at a higher elevation than both the Pgh local transmitters or the dealer, with a direct line of sight 33 miles from the city, I can not get one single channel.

Add to that. I can not get one single FM channel to come in clear at all using the cheap Connexx soundbar radio that came with the trailer and the Air 360. If I use a cheap dipole FM antenna just laying on the floor, with the Connexx soundbar, I can get dozens of FM stations clear. I've had the Air 360 apart which requires cutting through the roof sealant playing with the connections, it still sucks.

Now add in if you want wifi capability you also need to buy either the Winegard 4G Gateway GW 1000 which is $334.00 on Amazon or the Winegard 5G Gateway GW 5G01, list at $999.00 that also would give you cellular access with an account, in addition to the wifi.

They can keep it.
