Winegard RAYZAR

Has anybody bought the new Razar anntenna yet? I tried to look it up on Camping World and couldnt bring it up. Saw it in this months (August Sept) Good Sams Highways magazine. I couldnt find it when I did a Winegard google search. Sure would like to know more about it, thanks jdadoug.

I just read about it this afternoon and was going to look at CampingWorld.com for it too. Looks like at this time CW is not carrying it.

Found it!!

I finally found it, go to Camping World and do a search, type in RV-RZ50 in the search spot. Wife ordered one last night, got it cheaper and no shiping since we are Good Sam members. jdadoug

Have you tested it out yet?

I was able to find it at CW like you said. Looks like it was recently added because it now comes up when searching for Winegard items.

Can't wait to get it especially and take advantage of the reduced price.

I added it to my cart and it said free shipping but ended up being charged $11 for shipping. Will be checking on this in the morning.

Why buy this?

I looked at it but it did not seem to "fill a need."

I agree with Herk-What is the purpose? Last thing I need is getting in my way inside the camper. Am I missing something?

I don't get the best picture with over the air channels so thought it was worth a try.

The customer service lady was able to get the shipping charge removed. She guessed the reason I was charged was due to it being shipped freight due to size & weight. I don't think that guess is correct based on the image of the item but I haven't checked the specs. Now we are trying to get the order cancelled all together via a manager at the warehouse.

I don't understand why this happened in the first place. When I placed the item in the cart I got an advert stating it quailifies for free shipping. There was only one shipping option to choose from.

Hi all, I havent gotten mine yet, I didnt have shipping fees cause I'm a Good Sam member. I bought it cause I have little faith in my antenna lol. Guess I still have not figured out which end is the front or the back of the antenna. It just doesnt make much differance when I do a scan of the channels. jdadoug

I still got charged for *free shipping*. In the past there would be an option to enter GS membership number but not this time. The directions stated to use the regular option for shipping but it added the full charge. There were only one option to select from....

Did you do a scan on forum search on "winegard wingman" as search terms?

The white housing is the "front" and should always point at the towers.
Use an internet program like "www.antennaweb.org to find the direction to the antenna farm.

The Sensar Wingman will double digital reception on older Sensar antennas.

ALWAYS have the "booster" button ON and scan for channels AFTER you point point the white amp box at the antenna farm. Use the "AIR" setting (not cable) when you do your TV scan feature.

These work great. About a 5 minute install and I get about 50% more channels.

I just installed a wingman and it made a significant difference. Other than just about slipping off the roof by the ladder, install was very easy. My cat like reflexes grabbed the ladder and saved from the sudden stop below.

Man I am glad you caught yourself!
I always worry about falling when I am up there.
Stay LOW and NEVER lean over unless laying more than 75% of your body mass flat on the roof. About "boob" level ON the roof. If you can't reach from there; time to get a TALL ladder.

Did a test

Ok, so I got it last Friday right before we left for the lake. Wifey suprised me with it. So I hooked it up and finally got some channels on the tube. Best thing is I didnt have to run the antenna up and I had a nice picture. jdadoug

In the end was it worth it to you? Sounds like it is.

I don't know if I still have one coming or not as we were trying to cancel the order (one of the reasons was that I had forgotten about the Wingman). If it comes by the following Friday I will check it out at the beach. I tend to lose the signal in the evening towards the end of a good show.

Yes it was!

Yes it was, now I have another option, I'm not so sure my antenna/cable is all that good. Besides, I'll never worry about leaving with the antenna up.

Got the answer to the question if I have one coming or not. It arrived in a really big box on Thursday. I tested it out and got 4 channels (2 were the same show) with it. The picture was pretty clear. Using the Winegard got 7 channels. We are closed to a pretty big hill. I can see the value in the item based on certain things but wasn't the right product for me - I rather use the Winegard antenna.
