Wolf Pup outdoor refrigerator almost caught on fire

Hello all.
I am writing to tell you all about an experience we had with our brand new Wolf Pup FP16BL. We have only had it since the beginning of June.
We were getting it ready to take out this weekend when for no reason when we plugged into our power source it immediately blew the breaker.
We couldn't figure out what was going on.
We called our electrician to come take a look thinking it might be something in the house.
He was about to give up, saying it was a dead short in the trailer and we would be better off taking it into the dealer.
Just by chance Brad opened the outside kitchen door and saw the cord to the fridge was completely fried.
It was melted in several spots and even melted at the point where it enters the fridge itself.
The electrician told us we were darn lucky we didn't start a fire and that we weren't sleeping in it.
I am curious if anyone has ever heard of such a thing or had any experience similar to this?
We have called the manufacturer and the recording said they would get back to us when they are open.
The email we sent gave us an automatic response of "we will get back to you in 2 or 3 business days".
We are still able to use it.
We have removed the little fridge for now.
Makes me wonder what else is wrong with it.
Any input is very appreciated, as always.

Damn that defective fridge could have made some real problems. Glad no real disaster came of it. Mostly the fault of the appliance manufacturer.

Did your electrician wired up a new 30 amp RV receptacle for you?

I think you all are thinking his 30 amp house receptacle is wired 230 volt instead of 120 volt. That could explain why the wire melted and not trip the 15 amp trailer breaker.

110 from the house with a dog bone.
My electrician is coming in the next week to wire a 30amp plug.
I have solar that powers the trailer. The only time I plug in is to vacuum etc.

Be certain he knows to wire it for 120 volt, not 240. Many electricians don't realize this. Provide him a wiring schematic.

Edit: you should contact your dealer regarding the fridge. Let him be your advocate and arrange the replacement.
