XLR Garage radio/DVD player question

I have finally got around to putting a tv in the garage of my xlr340 thunderbolt and movies come through black and white and also a bit grainy. The tv is good. I hooked it up in house just to make sure. Sound comes through just fine as do cds. Is the unit just bad? I have about 3 weeks left on my one year warranty to try and get a new one. Thanks in advance. Neil

Go into menu and change from cable to HDMI. There could be several issues, but this is my best guess.

I don't think the garage radio has a hdmi output. There is no name brand anywhere visible on the unit or remote. I just have the white red and black cables coming out of a hole.
