ZX700 Anybody have one yet?

Rockwood is referring to the ZX690 as the ZX700. I was wondering if there is actually a ZX700 out there and what adapter cable would it take to hook it up to the the wiring harness for a ZX500. Concertone doesn't have a phone number or physical address on any of their pages? My dealer is ordering me a ZX700 to replace the ZX500 that shorted out and I want to have the cable to hook it up with on hand when it gets here.

Yes, I had so much trouble with my ZX600 that they finally agreed to replace it under warranty. I had to argue quite a bit to get it though. I was able to replace myself. It is not that difficult. Where are you located? You will have to wire in yourself, there is no adapter cable and the connectors are different from the previous models. If you are close to Waco Texas I could help you.

zx700 here (at least that's what the manual says)! Their website shows it as a zx690 though...

I think peolpe should be demanding trailer be delivered without Concertone system altogether. What a waste of time and money to have to buy this garbage. Rather chose my own system after 2 duds in 2 different rigs Paying a lot of money for a worthless system

My new trailer Rockwood 2604 came with Concertone ZX700. It is indeed a piece of junk and had I known before hand I would have insisted that they install someother dependable unit in the trailer. What unit would you suggest that I use to change out this piece of crap? Please suggest something that can easily be switched. Thanks

I haven't seen an easy fix. I have a thread here on how to retro fit a home unit if you are interested.
I agree with the others. Concertone is junk. You buy a $30,000 trailer and Forest River put's a $10 unit in it.

Are you listening Forest River?
We are not happy!

ugghh my zx700 is about to bite it, I get all sorts of static and buzzing in the speakers. Of coarse this is the 1st time I had used it, 1st trip of the year with our new 2010 9315BSS. There is no way I am taking my rig all the way back to the dealer to have it replaced.. I guess I will just take it out and ship it to them..

Concertone are basically throw away units. I have a ZX600, (my second one in a year). Although I have an extended warranty to replace it for the next 5 yrs. I won't be using Concertone again. Have heard some good things about the Jensen AWM690. Basically the same as the ZX units but a little better quality. You will have to modify the opening as the Jensen is a bit shorter but basically an easy swap.

Yes Concertone does have an adaptor to switch from the ZX500 to the ZX690. It's $19.95 on their website. Look under the specials tab. But if you decide on a different unit
Jensen AWM970 AM/FM/CD/DVD/USB/iPod Ready Wall Mount Stereo for RV/Marine/Travel Trailer/Toy Hauler/Cargo use - Stereo System
on sale for $245.00

Guess we must have been the winner ! The ZX700 in our new 8315BSS works just fine. The only function we haven't tested is the interface with the XM radio unit. This is because I am too cheap to pay for any kind of radio signal !!! LOL

Believe it or not, originally I felt the same way. After a while camping in the boonies, I got tired of DVDs and needed (yes needed) to find out what was going on in the world. We turned on the XM that trip.

Woot, woot. That's great. Hope it keeps working for you. I'm on my 4th concertone and this last one has work great for about 14 months. Now it's crapped out and I'm looking to switch it over to the Jensen AWM970. Yeah I hate that is a different size, thought about turning it sideways but then that'd be kind of confusing to use. But it would fit better and no cutting. I did come across a coupon/voucher for existing concertone users to upgrade to the ZX690, wit the voucher/ coupon it'd still cost $285 for the unit then to get the wire adaptor it's an extra $19.95. So I'm leaning towards a Jensen because I doubt the concertone zx690 would last more than 14 months, just two months past it's warrenty

No true Gerry, We just got our 2011 FR wildwood and it has the Concertone in it. (bad locationg design too) It's lower than my hip so I have to lean low to reach and my 2 yr old has more fun with it than W and I would like him to.
