2 Campgrounds
Here are two campgrounds I have stayed at and would recommend to others.
Both are off I-70, both near Richmond, IN.
Deer Ridge Camping Resort, exit 153. Older campground, owners live on
site. Situated in woods. Most of campground are permanent campers but
many spaces open for travelers. Sites are either in the tree area or in a
lovely grassy area close to pool. Good for older campers or an overnight
stay. No planned activities for kids. Has miniature golf, a recreation room with pool table and some video games. Pool very clean. Restrooms, showers very clean. Quiet. Shopping within a few miles, typical chain
restaurants are with in a few miles.
Might be a little snug for big rigs but doable.
Natural Spring Resort, exit 156A or B, depending which direction you are coming. Located in New Paris, OH. Huge campground situated around a stone quarry that is spring fed. Has nice sand beach or a freshwater pool. Good for the kids. Some sites are small, some are larger. Some sites paved, some not. Some roads paved, some not. Great place for kids to ride bikes, trikes. Restrooms located in center are decent, restrooms towards back and tent camping could be better but they are tolerable. Big rigs can get in this campground easily.
New Paris has some antique stores and a couple of restaurants. This campground close to Richmond shopping malls
and restaurants.
Tom Raper RV is located northwest Richmond, easy off I-70.
