East Coast travel

I would say no. 95 can be a nightmare. Instead try to work your way over to 17. Itís a better drive and much more relaxing.

Dover, PA to Williamsburg,VA I would come down US15 from Gettysburg to Warrenton, VA From there, you have some possibilities. 1) You could take US17 to I95 at Fredericksburg, VA. 2) take US17 to Fredericksburg, VA, then east to south US301, and pick up VA30 to West Point, VA and then on to Williamsburg. This avoids I95 and much of I64. 3) from Warrenton, VA go south on US15 to Culpeper and then take US522 to I64 on the west side of Richmond, and take I64 to Williamsburg. I have done all 3 of these routes, and I like #2 the best. It can be a bit slow, but I really don't like I95 south. The drivers are crazy and like to go either 75+ MPH or are stopped. Fredericksburg is getting rather crowded and traffic is getting worse every year, but, once through that, US301 and the other country roads through that area are a nice drive.

Spot on. We live in King George, VA and avoid 95 from Fredericksburg to DC like the plague.
