Acadia National Park Campground recommendations
Planning to go to Acadia NP in late September and are looking for campground recommendations. We prefer concrete pads and full hookups with wifi. We Glamp more than camp, LOL. Can't wait for the fresh lobster!

Check out the search engine for the forum. There have been a few threads on Acadia camping. The only CG that had conrete pads that I remember are at Smugglers Den. There's an article about them in RV Living

Please keep in mind that many RV parks in that part of the Country close for the winter.
Some not much later them October 1st. Have a great trip.

We've stayed at Smugglers Den three times in the last 10 years. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. It's on the quiet side of the island and there's a shuttle provided by the National Park service that will take you anywhere you need to go.

We're heading to Acadia this Saturday June 18 and we're staying a Timberland Acres Campground in Trenton, Me. for a week. Half the price of a lot of campgrounds in Bar Harbor/Acadia. They have there own shuttle to places.

Timberland is a nice tip to keep in mind for DW and mine next visit to BH. Narrows Two is expensive.

I can't think of any campgrounds in New England that have concrete pads. If you want to be close to every thing I think the KOA or the Narrows would be your best bet. Most campgrounds up here stay open until at least Columbus Day.

I am thinking Narrows Too, prices go down in September so it is not that bad and hoping for a water view. Anybody have a reason not to go there?

We are going to Acadia in early August and are staying at Hadley's Point Campground. We opted on that for the price and we do not need all the amenities that a family may need as it is only DW and myself. Kids are grown and on their own.

Hadley's Point Campground was on my list but when I read on their website that you cannot leave your dog unattended inside your camper! It was crossed off the list. What other crazy rules will they have. Good Luck!

Acadia Camping in Maine
We stayed at Hadley's last year and toured the area. It was a nice campground and has all types of sites available. Some of the sites are small and packed in there, but we found we were out and about in Bar Harbor and Acadia more then we were in the campground. The granddaughter loved the play area. Lots of great people and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Have fun!

Fresh seafood????
Eat at THE THIRSTY WHALE, 40 Cottage St. down town Bar Harbor...no linen table cloths or china dishes just great seafood.
A must do.... Sea Princess Cruises... sunset cruise or the Somes Sound Fjord Cruise out of Northeast Harbor.
Enjoy your time in Maine
Happy Trails

Narrows Too - but no concrete just gravel. You may have a problem finding this luxury in Maine.

First 4 sites on the left at Smugglers Den are concrete. Southwest Harbor is on the "Quiet side"
