If you are just trying to get out of cold weather check out the gulf coast of Alabama. Less crowded than Florida and plenty of places to eat. We have stayed the last two winters there and will be returning again this year. The rv park we stay in is located in Orange Beach.

In Florida, it's just called "biking" since there aren't any mountains. [emoji1787][emoji6]

Google "Peace River RV parks" near Aradia, FL. These resorts will be less expensive and many have river access so try a month in several areas. The "snow bird" season is Jan to mid Apr. Resorts on the coast will be $800 to $1,200 month or more and many are older and not really a good value, but don't be dissuaded you will be able to find a place. FYI - the ocean isn't warm enough to swim until April. Summer is the high season in the Pan Handle so you should be able to find a place there too. The beaches are stunning.

Advice for Winter Spot

Hi we did the snowbird thing for a couple years and stayed at The Outpost RV Resort in Winter Haven Fl. Great area caters to retirees and plenty of shopping restaurants and very safe area park is on a Lake that is beautiful. The park is 30 minutes from Disney. 3 miles from Legoland. Check it out. We finally loved the area so much and bought a home in the area full time and travel in our RV leasurely. Google the resort. Hope this helps.

We are staying for the first time at a place called Recreation Plantation on Lady Lake. Friends looked at it last year and said it was a real nice place and they have a lot of new site so we are trying it for January and February.

Just don’t stay in Breezy Hill or Highland Woods in Pompano Beach unless you’re French Canadian or like your parking abilities to be tested. 500 sites, 95% are FC. And so tight.

Heh. It was just odd. The staff answers the phone in French, all activities signs are written in French, and everyone looks at your cross-eyed when you say “howdy” vs. “bonjour”. They’re a bit standoff-ish but that could largely be the language barrier (and the fact that I have kids!).

And then there were the 7 people shouting whatever the French word is for “fence” that I could see in front of me. Distracted me enough that I forgot about a light pole.

Did you then shout some 'made up' French words?

I wish. They heard the impact, realized what happened, and scattered like kids who were jumping bikes and one kid got hurt.

They actually consider 184' high, to be called a mountain?[emoji1787][emoji23]

Try the Williston Crossing RV Park in north central Florida, halfway between Ocala and Gainesville. Very quiet established area with over 600 nice rv sites. People are wonderful, lots of activities for 55 and older.

A hidden gem is Lake Bonnet Village RV Resort, between Sebring and Avon Park - Central Florida's Hidden Treasure!
Located near Sebring this place was what I was looking for. Hope it works for you.

There are 5 parks in Arcadia Florida. Prices vary but most likely 3 or four would be able to accommodate you. Not on a beach but an hour will get you to a beach.

Try Williston Crossing RV Resort in north central Florida. They are always booked up, but they have a new sister park in Chiefland. I do not recall the name of it and don’t know if it is booked or not. I’m sure Williston is referring folks over there already. It's a new park, so it may be a little rough around the edged. I’m not sure.
