Alaska

So what's the best route to Alaska from Knoxville TN. I'd like to escape as many steep grades as possible. Thanks for you input.

Haven’t been there yet, maybe one day. But check out Mountain Directory West for Truckers, RV, & Motorhome drivers. They also have an East version. R and R Publishing.

Went there this past summer for the second time. You can avoid the tallest of the Canadian Rockies by going to Edmonton then to Dawson Creek to pick up the Alaska Highway. But you will miss some of the best scenery. As I remember the Alaska Highway did not have steep grades unless you take the side trip to Skagway which as an 11 percent grade going into the city.

Thanks for the info. Our friends went and talked about some steep grades.
