Anyone been to Luray Virginia
We are planning a trip to Luray Virginia in April.
We have a choice of 2 KOA's (our usual choice) and several independent ones. I have read the reviews on each one and they all sound great
We are planning to do the caverns and Cooters Garage plus our usual geocahing.
Any else ever stayed at one of the local campgrounds and or places we should check out?

Stayed at the KOA off I81, near Lexington Va. 2 yrs ago. It was under new management at that time. Campground was clean, host were nice and helpful. Just spent the night on a trip to NM. Beautiful area.

Outlanders is nice. Right on the river, but there are motorcycles that stay there. It's a nice cv ran by a great lady.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone is very nice but expensive. It's geared toward kid activity if you want that.

We LOVE KOA Luray. We stay there every November as an end of season thing. The campground is VERY well maintained. We get one of the pull throughs on the outer edge with a view to the mountains and the sunsets.

Outlander is very nice and easy , plenty of room.
I’ve been there with and without motorcycles and we had the only motorcycle.
Great place to stay , very close to local activities and the owners are very helpful.

2X on Luray KOA. Stayed there last Sept and one of the nicer places we’ve ever stayed. As mentioned above spots on the perimeter are great for mountain sunset views.

I agree-- stay at Luray KOA. We live within 40 minutes of there. Also agree, get a pull through on the outer ring.

X2 - Luray KOA. We stayed there during very hot July and flies from neighbouring cattle farms were bad! Probably just that year.

Are you aware that natural bridge is a good 90 minutes or more drive each way from the things he wants to do in Luray?

Have camped at KOA Luray with our camping club we will be back for 3 year in a row. Quiet, friendly and well managed. About 5 miles from the caverns.

Anyone been to Luray Virginia
We are staying at the one on Kimball rd April 12-14. We like to go someplace close to do our “shakedown” camping. First time in the season to stretch out freshen up and find all the stink bugs. Hopefully we can see some sights too. Haven’t been to this one yet.

The natural bridge KOA in Lexington was so nice we bought a KOA membership. That area is beautiful. We are planning another visit next year.

Endless Caverns campground is right in that area it New Market VA. Great campground built on the side of the mountain. They have Caverns there also. We have been to Luray Caverns and also toured Endless Caverns. Luray is bigger but for some reason hubby and I like endless Caverns better. Don’t forget to go up on Skyline Driv too.

Thanks Everyone for the suggestions, there many great places in and around Luray to stay. We (DW) decided on the Luray KOA.
First trip out and cannot wait.
We are going to hit the caverns and the tourist trap Dukes of Hazard place and do lots geocaching.
